Common fixes

Claude says "not connected to GoHighLevel" or "token expired"

Three things have to be true: Claude Desktop is running with the Stacked Workflows add-on installed; "Connect to Claude" is ON in the extension popup (Advanced) and the pill at the top of the popup is green; and you are logged in to GoHighLevel in Chrome. If all three are true, the session refreshes on its own - a GoHighLevel tab may open in the background for a few seconds and close again - so wait about a minute and retry. There is no tab to babysit and nothing to copy-paste.

Claude Desktop isn't running, or the popup pill says "Not connected"

Open Claude Desktop and check that Stacked Workflows appears under Settings, then Extensions. Then open the extension popup: if the pill reads "Not connected - enable Connect to Claude", switch Connect to Claude ON under Advanced. If Chrome asks to allow a local connection, click Allow.

You've been logged out of GoHighLevel

This is the one case the extension can't fix by itself: the automatic refresh needs a live GoHighLevel login in Chrome. Log back in to GoHighLevel on any page, wait a few seconds, and Claude reconnects on the next request.

The popup shows "Activate Stacked Workflows"

Your licence is inactive or has expired (a refund switches access off automatically). While it is inactive the extension stops handing Claude your session, so Claude just reports "not connected". Enter the key from your purchase email in the popup. If it's rejected and you believe it should be active, email us with the key and we'll check it.

The AI add-on isn't installed

Building with Claude needs the one-file Claude Desktop add-on (stacked-workflows.mcpb) as well as the extension. It's optional and off by default: follow the installation guide to add it (Claude Desktop, Settings, Extensions, Install), then switch Connect to Claude ON in the popup. The backup, audit, bulk-edit, clone and export tools work without it.

"Can't reach a GHL tab" or a request failed

If you just installed or updated the extension, reload your open GoHighLevel tab once. Chrome only attaches an extension to pages loaded after it was installed.

An action or button stopped working

GoHighLevel occasionally changes things under the hood. Click Run health check in the popup, then email us the result. Updates are free and we patch breakages quickly.

Turning off anonymous bug reports

The Claude Desktop add-on sends us an anonymous report when one of its tools fails, so we can fix bugs quickly, often before you notice. No GoHighLevel data, id or token is ever a field of a report; the short error text, and anything Claude writes in a report, is filtered before sending on a best-effort basis (the privacy policy lists exactly what is sent). To switch them off, open Claude Desktop, go to Settings, then Extensions, then Stacked Workflows, and turn off Send anonymous bug reports. The Chrome extension doesn't send bug reports.

Setting up from scratch

The full walkthrough (extension, licence, Claude Desktop add-on, Connect to Claude) is on the installation page.
